| Fox
Wood Wildlife Rescue gratefully accepts donations of many different
kinds. If you would like to donate an amount other than
a $50.00 sponsorship, cannot decide on an individual animal to
sponsor, or simply would like to contribute to wildlife in non-monetary
ways, we certainly have operating requirements that need to be
met on an on-going basis. Since Fox Wood Wildlife Rescue
has no paid employees, 100% of every donation, monetary or otherwise,
goes directly to the care of our residents and patients.
Wildlife rehabilitators do not receive any funding or support
whatsoever from any State or other government agencies.
The only funding or support received comes out of our own personal
pockets and from people like you. Every donation is accepted with
our heartfelt thanks and the gratitude of our temporary and permanent
friends! Fox Wood Wildlife Rescue is a non-profit (Title
501(c)3) organization, as well as a United Way participant, and
can supply a tax-deductible receipt for your donations. |

|
| The
following list of items represent some of the many needs that we
must meet on an on-going basis. If you can assist with anything
listed here, or have questions about items you think we might be
able to use, please call or e-mail us! |
| |
Money! |
Monetary
contributions allow us to purchase supplies and treatments that
cannot be listed here. Such things include medications, vaccinations,
veterinary care, medical supplies, transportation, license and permit
fees, laboratory testing fees, housing, continued education and
certifications, etc. As you might expect, wildlife does not
carry hospitalization insurance. Monetary contributions can
be given by sending a check or money order to the address at the
top of this page, or through PayPal by clicking on the Donation
button above.

 |
Venison |
Venison
is used to feed residents such as foxes, coyotes, and other carnivores/omnivores.
Uncooked and unspiced venison is essential in maintaining the balance
of nutrients required by these patients and residents. |
 |
Towels |
As
you might suspect, towels are used for bedding, cleanup, insulation,
and just about anything else you might use a towel for.
For you Hitchhiker's fans, we know where our towels are! |
 |
Paper
Towels |
See
above, only disposability has its advantages! |
 |
Camera
Film |
Cameras
are used extensively at Fox Wood for capturing images of our patients
These images are used for documentation of cases, as well as for
educational presentations given by our president, Elise Able, who
is a highly regarded author and speaker. |
 |
Bird
Houses |
Even
our feathery friends need comfortable protection from the elements! |
 |
Chain
Link Dog Kennels |
Chain
link dog kennels are ideal enclosures for our four-footed, furry
friends. Chain link is desirable due to its durability and
ease of maintenance. |
 |
Antibacterial
Hand Soap |
Dial-brand
antibacterial hand soap is essential for our work here at Fox Wood.
As some of our patients are brought to us with various illnesses,
it is extremely important that all possible measures are taken to
prevent cross-infection with our healthy patients. Dial has
a number of properties that make it our preferred antibacterial
soap. |
 |
Pedialyte |
Pedialyte
Infant Rehydrating Formula contains essential electrolytes for our
patients that are brought to us in a condition of shock, as is common
in most traumatic situations. Pedialyte is a key component
in reestablishing proper health so that our patients' amazing recuperative
abilities can work optimally. |
 |
Heating
Pads |
In
addition to simply providing warmth for those residents that need
it, heating pads are also essential in treating the shock that results
from traumatic injuries. |
 |
Reptariums |
(Cloth
and plastic) Reptariums serve as excellent containers for
smaller animals and are available in either cloth or plastic (with
snap tops) models. |
 |
Medical
Supplies |
As
most of our patients are brought to us with problems that require
medical attention, medical supplies are a must! Fox Wood Wildlife
Rescue maintains a facility that is akin to a wildlife emergency
room, and as such, requires many of the same supplies and equipment
that you would expect to find in a hospital emergency room. |
 |
Incubators |
Human
infant incubators are ideal for providing medical care for our smaller
patients and facilitate treatment of the animal while maintaining
controlled temperature much better than other containers or heating
pads. |
|
Bleach |
Bleach
is a key component in the daily cleaning of our facilities, as
well as sterilizing equipment and other supplies to prevent the
transmission of diseases. Bleach is an important component
when following the Rabies Vector Species Protocol in the safe
handling and treatment of mammal species.
|
 |
Country
Acreage |
We
are always on the lookout for either donated or very inexpensive
country acreage, as we continue to take in more and more patients.
Since we are dealing with wildlife, a country setting is ideal. |
 |
Scout
Projects |
Fox
Wood Wild Life Rescue has many needs that can be used as the basis
for Boy Scouts' and Girl Scouts' achievement projects. Such
needs include the building of cages and animal pens, facility maintenance,
etc. Fox Wood Wildlife Rescue projects provide a unique environment
for Scouts to not only work on their achievements, but to do so
in an educational setting that fosters an appreciation and respect
for wildlife that is so much a part of the Scouts philosophy! |
